This was our first year attending the Bailey’s Summer Expo! The expo is an annual event hosted by Bailey Nurseries, our tree, shrub, and perennial wholesaler. Bailey Nurseries is located in St. Paul, MN. As a fifth-generation family-owned business, it has been serving customers for more than 110 years!

At the expo, we learned about the new varieties of plants for 2018. Available for Mother’s Day next year, we will feature a huge selection of already blooming plants, including Bailey’s new clematis and shrub roses!

In addition to the order arriving next spring, we have a shipment of shrubs and perennials coming this week to enhance your autumn gardens! Look for Quick Fire Hydrangea, Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea, Aralia Cordata “Sun King” (a deer-resistant perennial with bright, chartreuse foliage for shade) and Sorbaria Sorbifolia “Sem” (a cool, variegated shrub for part-sun with fern-like foliage tinged pink and green).

The highlight of the trip was certainly touring the extensive display gardens! The unique plant and color combinations were truly inspiring. We enjoyed strolling the grounds and the breath-taking landscaping.

Stop in at Balsam Lake Pro-Lawn to see the new plants arriving for late-summer / early-autumn color and to gather plant ideas for your landscaping!
